We are a start-up company dedicated to the creation of cost-effective, energy saving lighting solutions and technologies. Our lighting management solutions, which comprise Lighting Energy Modules (intelligent ballasts) and the Lighting Management Control System, enable building owners to achieve a savings between 50 – 70% of the energy used in typical commercial installations while improving the quality of lighting throughout the building. The Lighting Management Control System (LMCS) contains both software and hardware components in order to adjust the light output power levels for our electronic dimming ballasts.

We are looking for an individual, experienced in embedded control systems, to come and join our engineering team. Projects consist of enhancing our lighting control system with the addition of ancillary control subsystems that allow our technology to “plug and play” with larger commercially available building management systems, and the migration of the product line into a more “network centric” distributed architecture. The ideal candidate shall have the following credentials:

  • BS/CS degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of applicable industry experience

  • Dynamic self-starter able to work with the minimum of supervision and internal documentation

  • Experience with different networking protocols

  • Fluent in both Windows and Linux development environments

  • Experience with multi-threading/multi-tasking, semaphore, and signal techniques in distributed client/server architectures

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written

  • Must be proficient in both C, and C++ (Visual Basic, Java, and C# a plus)

  • Definite team player

Other points that are definite pluses:

  • Experience with testing DALI controlled objects, and the DALI specification

  • Experience with the BACnet control protocol, the specification of the PICS documentation, and the BACnet specification

  • Experience with competitive lighting control systems
